Abstract

Ebu'l Hasan was born and raised in Baghdad. His father was very rich. When his father passed
away, he inherited a lot of property. His friends gathered around him, showing love and
sincerity. Abu'l Hasan presented himself as poor. His friends resented him and stopped
visiting him. Abu'l Hasan told his mother about the incident. His mother told him to keep half
of his wealth and told him to make a profit from this painful event. Abu'l Hasan decided to be
friends only with poor people and not to return to his old friends. Ebu'l Hasan met Harun
Reşit and called him to his house. He told him what he had experienced. The Caliph was very
surprised. He walked with him to his house and admired the bravery of Caliph Abu'l Hasan.
He asked if she wanted anything from him. Abu'l Hasan expressed his wish to become caliph
for a day. The Caliph added sleeping pills to his drink and his servant carried him to the
palace. The servant dressed him in the Caliph's clothes, and after the Caliph was convinced
that he was the Caliph, he told everyone in the palace to obey his orders. When Abu'l Hasan
was woken up, he was very surprised. He thought he was in a dream. His astonishment
increased when they confirmed that he was awake and that he was the Caliph. When he
became Caliph, he punished the five people who needed to be punished and sent his mother a
purse containing a thousand Dinars. At the end of the day, he put another sleeping pill in his
drink and was left home and in his bed. When he woke up, he screamed in pain and surprise.
When his mother came to him, she asked him if he was the Caliph. And when Abu'l Hasan
saw his mother bring a purse with a thousand dinars in it, he realized that what he experienced
was not a dream. His mother thought that Abu'l Hasan was going crazy and they took him to
Bimaristan (Hospital), where he stayed for a month. They did not release him until he came to
his senses and determined that he was Abu'l Hasan.
Abu'l Hasan met the caliph for the second time and did not receive his greeting. Caliph Abu'l
Hasan treated him well until he was pleased with him. Abu'l Hasan invited the caliph to his
home. He was very upset about what happened to Caliph Abu'l Hasan. When it was time to
sleep, he put medicine into Caliph Abu'l Hasan's drink again. When he woke up, he found
himself in the palace and was stunned. He was about to go crazy with astonishment.
And he thought he was dreaming. Abu'l Hasan told a servant to bite his ear to make sure he
was awake. Then the maid bit him on the ear. Abu'l Hasan screamed from the intensity of the
pain. And he said that he was sure that he was the Caliph. He hesitated to believe what his
ears heard and his eyes saw. Abu'l Hasan shouted with all his might:
- Undoubtedly, I am the commander of the believers and I am not Abu'l Hasan.
The Caliph saw all that happened and entered the room. Abu'l Hasan understood the truth of
the matter. He fell at the feet of the Caliph. He showered Caliph Abu'l Hasan with goods and
money. From that day on, he made her a friend. This story emphasizes the importance of
sincerity, honesty and true identity. It also tells about the complexity of man's perception of
reality in his inner world and the process of discovering his own reality.
