The Role of Parents in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language to Children at Early Ages and Suggestions

Abstract
As an individual, the child's first education begins in the family. The family comes to the child's education before schools, books and friends. Early life is the period when the child's mind is most open and most sensitive to external influences. Therefore, parents should undertake the education of their children and make the greatest contribution to their education and development. In addition, the family has a great influence on the child's mother tongue and foreign language learning process. As a matter of fact, the acquisition of mother tongue takes place primarily in the family, around the mother and father. After the acquisition of the mother tongue, the child's second and third language learning forms the language learning stages. In order to be successful in the language learning process, it is important to know the basic elements and tips of this process. In this study, different method suggestions that parents can use in the process of teaching Arabic language to children at an early age are discussed. One of the simplest and most applicable methods is games and entertainment methods. The targeted success can be achieved quickly by ensuring that the child is exposed to language through cartoons, puzzles and different mental activities. In this study, first of all took into action the effects and awareness of parents on children, then the responsibilities and actions of parents on language education and teaching, and finally the suggestions that parents can apply about mother tongue acquisition and foreign language teaching.
