Abstract
Contrasts are one of the fundamental building blocks at the core of the universe and existence. Like nature, language is also built upon the balanced rhythm of contrasts. Regardless of the geography they inhabit, humans have always needed antonyms to express opposing elements. Over centuries, Turkish and Arabic have been in close interaction, and this interaction has inevitably manifested itself in various aspects of language, including antonyms. This study examines different types of contrasts in Turkish and Arabic through a comparative analysis method, supported by examples. Furthermore, the study identifies the similar and common types of contrasts found in both languages.
