Abstract

The interactive communicative approach in teaching writing to non-native speakers of Arabic places the learner at the center of the educational process, focusing on effective communication and meaning rather than solely on formal grammar rules. This method emphasizes interaction between learners and the teacher, using real-life situations to develop writing skills in a natural and contextual way. It integrates with other language skills such as listening, reading, and speaking, viewing writing as a communicative tool rather than an isolated skill. Instead of memorizing linguistic structures, students are encouraged to produce texts that reflect their thoughts and emotions, while also raising their awareness of the potential audience and purpose of writing. The approach considers individual differences among learners and employs techniques such as group work, brainstorming, collaborative writing, and constructive feedback. The teacher acts more as a facilitator and guide than a transmitter of knowledge, creating a supportive and motivating environment for writing. This method enhances autonomy and critical thinking, developing writing competence progressively through stages that include planning, drafting, revising, and rewriting. Topics related to the learner's life and interests are used to boost motivation.
